Congratulations to Gamma Pi’s Brother Richard Allen Moore II (Gamma Pi Spring '87) on his selection to the 2025-26 class of fellows of the James E. Clyburn Leadership Institute (JECLI). The yearlong leadership program is a component of the Omega Action Network and is named for Brother U.S. Rep. Clyburn who represents the 6th District of South Carolina.

During the 12-month training period, Fellows
learn the “ins and outs” of running ethical and effective political campaigns.
Some of the areas of emphasis include Campaign Financing, Organizing
Principles and Coalition Building. In short, the program is geared towards
people who are interested in serving or being involved in politics.
“I am inspired and grateful for all the wisdom that was shared in the authentic conversations with the other members and the elected leaders that came through. I’m looking forward to building relationships and serving the citizens of Prince George’s County and the State of Maryland,” said Bro. Moore.
Bro. Moore, a graduate of the Catholic University of America’s Columbus School of Law, served 19 years as an Assistant State’s Attorney for the county from 1990-2009. Bro. Moore was honored by Catholic University in 2016 as one of 32 graduates who at the time served or had served as judges. Their names were inscribed on the Judges Wall. Bro. Moore is also a graduate of Morgan State University in Baltimore.
The Omega Network For Action, Inc. was created to help
African Americans and others in underserved communities achieve their highest
true social parity, economic self- reliance, power, and civil rights. It is
designed to promote economic empowerment through education and job training,
housing and community development, workforce development, entrepreneurship,
health, and quality of life for the stated underserved community.
Rep. Clyburn, a member of the Fraternity, currently serves
as the Assistant Democratic Leader in the House of Representatives. He served
as Assistant Democratic Leader from 2011 to 2018 and as House Majority Whip
from 2019 to 2022 and 2007 to 2010. He was the House Democratic Caucus Chair
and Vice Chair, as well as Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus.
