Brother Ambassador Taylor and his staff at the U.S. Embassy in Port Moresby will be receiving the Secretary on January 14 (they are a day ahead of the U.S. East Coast) as she makes an official visit to the island nation to meet with its leaders before heading to New Zealand and Australia for additional meetings. This will be her fourth trip to that region since her appointment. According to various media reports, the trip is part of a mission to strengthen cooperation among the U.S. and South Pacific nations. Brother Ambassador Taylor is the chief U.S. representative in three South Pacific nations -- Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu.
In the TV news interview, Brother Taylor discusses the Secretary's interest in expanding the role of women in government there. Gamma Pi has obtained digital video of Brother Taylor's network interview from EM TV's broadcast site. The interview, in its entirety, is posted below.
Gamma Pi's communications team will continue to monitor updates of Secretary Clinton's visit to Papua New Guinea and Brother Ambassador Taylor's role and pass along information to Gamma Pi and the Fraternity.
